IDW 2019

The theme of IDW 2019 is Breaking Down Barriers: Mobilizing Locally for a Global Impact. This theme aims to explore the various individual, local, national and global barriers to international development, and the need for different actors from the public, private, non-governmental and academic sectors to mobilize and cooperate to overcome these complex barriers to development. More importantly, the conference will highlight the importance of applying community-led approaches to development in order to empower local populations to facilitate change within their own communities. By emphasizing the importance of community-led and multi-sectoral mobilization, participants will be able to understand how different actors can come together to support grassroots initiatives in order to empower local voices to create a global impact.

SDI 2019

Le thème de la SDI 2019 est Briser les barrières : Mobilisation locale pour un impact mondial. Ce thème vise à explorer les divers obstacles individuels, locaux, nationaux et mondiaux dans le domaine du développement international, et la nécessité pour les différents acteurs des secteurs public, privé, non gouvernemental et universitaire de se mobiliser et de coopérer afin de surmonter ces obstacles complexes au développement. Plus important encore, la conférence soulignera l'importance d'appliquer des approches communautaires au développement afin de donner aux populations locales les moyens de faciliter le changement au sein de leurs propres communautés. En mettant l'accent sur l'importance de la mobilisation communautaire et multisectorielle, les participants seront en mesure de comprendre comment différents acteurs peuvent s'unir pour soutenir les initiatives locales afin de donner aux voix locales les moyens de créer un impact mondial.
